Not only was Rehoboam Solomon's son, he was David's grandson.  Proof that
multi-generational dysfunction outlasts multi-generational greatness?

They did have a father to son eye and the means for collecting women, didn't
they?

However, it does seem to happen that one generation's false gods become
another's true and virtuous ones.
