                       LICIL's Writers' Workshop

Levittown, NY Beginning on October 12, 1999, LICIL will be
sponsoring a writers' workshop for persons with disabilities.
The workshops will be conducted by Bob Mauro and held at the
offices of the Long Island Center for Independent Living from
2:30 to 3:30 P.M. on the third Tuesday of each month for seven
consecutive months.

Bob Mauro will be covering poetry, short stories, articles,
plays, and other areas of writing, such as greeting cards.  Mr.
Mauro will use books, magazines, audio tapes, and his own skills
to help those interested in writing learn how to create salable
work.

Besides Bob's monthly computer column in Able Newspaper, Bob's
writing credits include publication in Newsday, Able Newspaper,
CenterFocus, Accent On Living, The Ragged Edge, New Mobility,
Mouth Magazine, and The Disability Rag.  The Custom Card Company
of Canada has published several of his greeting cards.  His plays
have been published by the Contemporary Drama Service,
Meriwether, Art Craft Play Company, Bakers, and Plays Magazine.
His poems have appeared in The Disability Rag, The Ragged Edge,
and several other publications, including his book The Landscape
of My Disability.

Bob's books include How to Live Longer with a Disability, Finding
Love and Intimacy, Two-character Plays for Student Actors, On
Stage! Short Plays for Acting Students, and The Landscape of My
Disability.
