my smart friends.
   my primary care provider (family doctor) has requested that my hmo put me
on a special program that basically is usually for rare problems like
special transplants, treatments ect. that there is no one in the AREA THAT
PERFORMS THAT SPECIALITY.
ooops hit the caps sory. his request was for a specialist who would be
knowlegable of the aging process in cerebral palsy patients.

now time has went by with no answer except that they are awaiting
information. i finally called the regional office and said, "what
information are you looking for? neither my doctor nor i know what you are
wanting. this person explaikns that we have to ask for 1. a particular
specialist (can be national, anywhere in the country, but should be closest
to atlanta as possible, ie: would not want to send me to calif., if there
were a specialist in nashville, or east atlanta). 2. if we do not have a
name, we have to name the specialty so they can do a search.

now, here is the thing, my doctor knows no names to request, and knows not
what specialty would fit. would it be a special branch of neurology, a
special branch of orthopedivs, etc.

now, you guys are smart. what would i tell them to search for.?
