C-Palsy is for all issues dealing with people with CP where CP Parent is for
parents with children with CP

Too many times abuses toward the disabled are ignored because it's been
inbred into society that disabled peopl are not capable of complaining about
the problems with their lives. A classic example: Every telethon in the past
has portrayed the disability that is being used to raise money says that the
people are helpless individuals who are to be pitied and they have no other
care in the world. Children are the main scapegoats for the telethons. As
far as disabled adults, in the past about 30 years ago were institutionalized
with no hope of seeing the outside world. It still happens that parents of
disabled children that have a capability of being independent is locked down
and brainwashed that they are incapable of being on their own. I had to
prove I was able to make it on my own. I still hear statements now about my
daughter that she should be taken away because her father is disabled and
cannot take care of her properly.

With violence inflicted on the disabled by their caretakers the public
refuses on a whole to believe that this can happen because of old style
beliefs about the disabled do not have a mind caple of telling the truth and
we should be happy just to be alive and stop whining.
