Opportunity to be a paid trainer for those experienced 
Working with people with speech disabilities 

We seek SLPs, OTs, PTs and others to work as paid trainers.  Trainers will find 
one potential assisted telephone user with a speech disability such as someone 
with significant dysarthria and/or an AAC user.  The user will learn to use a 
telephone assistance telephone assistance for people with speech disabilities 
called Speech-to-Speech (see www.speechtospeech.org). The trainer will 
ensure that the user practices using STS enough so that it becomes useful to 
him/her daily. 

Trainers must have a college degree, experience working with people with 
speech disabilities and ready access to potential users. Compensation varies 
from $50 to $100 an hour depending on experience and education.  Trainers 
who already have a client who has agreed to participate will receive preference 
over other applicants. Work must be completed by September 1st.  Hamilton 
Relay sponsors this training and provides Speech to Speech (STS) in 20 
states.*
