Friends, 

I don't know how to word this question, but let's say a person has been on
assistance all their life and just worked part-time, could they save up for
their later years of life without being penalized?  Is this wishful
thinking, or can it happen?  I don't know the Dos and Don'ts, but I do know
you're watched like a hawk unfortunately.
