Subject: [Dis-update] New IEP Guide

The U.S. Dept. of Education announced a new guide for Individualized
Education Programs (IEPs).

The guide is intended to help parents, teachers and schools to develop
IEPs that are in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities
education Act
(IDEA).

The 35-page booklet helps parents and those developing the IEPs to
understand the federal law and its regulations. It also helps them
distinguish between IEP requirements under the federal law and additional
requirements established under state or local policies and procedures.

Free copies are available from
the Dept. of Education by calling 877-4-ED-PUBS or

by visiting the web site at

http://www.ed.gov/offices/OSERS/OSEP/IEP_Guide/
