Good Afternoon Team, 
 
Kathy had a swallow study completed today, and did very well. Kathy was able to sample three different food items, with different consistency.  The first two were swallowed with easily, and third(P&J) was swallowed. While attempting to
 swallowing the third, Kathy aspirated. Dr. Hartman used suction to remove the aspirated items.    Dr. Hartman stated that due to nutritional, and safety concerns suggests Kathy needs a gastrostomy, for nutritional and safety reasons.

 
Kathy will follow up with Andrew Horstman, PA for a consult on October 18, at 1pm. This will allow her to ask the questions she has, and educate herself too.  I have talked to Joe and Shirley and they plan to attend this appointment, and
 then she will go for a home visit afterwards.
