I've had cable modem hook-up myself for the past four months, and it's
super!  V. fast and reliable!  No more disconnects, no more line noise
problems, no  more delays in connecting or waiting for the two modems to
"shake hands" or establish protocol.  I'm in heaven...<big sigh>
