Dianne,

    I had a terible time writing in elementary school. And even then I
realized that copying long passages from the blackboard did not assist me in
learning. If I had had computers back then (manual typewriters were scarcely
available) I could have learned more. Being slow and illegible in writing makes one
use their memory more. I am retired, but toward the end of my career as a
professor, I wrote very little. All my writing and math were done on word processing
and spread sheets.
