chester, the winner was decided yesterday when the electoral college gave
george w. bush 271 votes. nothing that is done now will make a bit of
difference. gore can not legally win. the whole process is over until
inauguration day. if you recount the votes ten times and gore got more votes
10 time, george w bush will be inaugurated president on January the 20th if
he does not drop dead or something and if something like that happened now,
dick chenney would be inaugurated and after that the speaker of the house,
and so on. al gore is not in the line of officers that will be sworn in. the
only way al gore can be president now is for bill clinton to be
incompacitated (he'd be president until the inauguration day) or to come
back in another election. it's over, closed, kaput, ended, final... pick
your word.

every body may as well get used to it and get over it as far as florida's
count is concerned. it was over as of yesterday. it is no longer a point to
be decided. it is now a done deal.

on the other hand i have heard that al gore has an offer from a prestigious
ivy league university. don't know that he has decided to take it or not.

But what if Gore does end up being the winner? If I
were Gore I'd recount them myself.
