Betty -I wear Birks almost all the time--They have anti rotational heel cups,
so you are less likely to twist ankles. lots of toe room inclogs & tie
shoes..sandles are stiff soled till well broken in--Depends on where your
pain is & what makes it...I also wear plogs alot-those rubber clogs with
airholes meant for scrub nurses. They can be put through the dishwasher.
They have lots of cushion on sole & give.....here is a link--

they are on sale now- I wear the navy ones with the holes. I'm about ready
for a new pair after 2 years.     Hope this helps--Sore feet are the
worst--can't do anything when mine hurt  & can't keep upright if I don't have
