Dan,
Yes, I coined that one after apologizing to friends I hadn't talked to in
five years for catching up through email. Some things just require a
telephone call.
Truthfully, I've never been able to use the term "Executive Summary" in a
report. As a humble hook-nosed ginny(self-sic)from Queens usually covered
in mortar dust and cutting oil while writing reports, I never feel even
moderately fallutin' enough to summarize myself executively. Although, I
find that Land's End sells some nice cheap shoes that I can wear to a higher
fallutin' jobsite meeting and still withstand subsequent jobsite mud.
John

Absolutely.

In my view there is the executive summary that boils down the report and
tells you in plain english the answer/recommendation/whatever.

Then there is the report that follows, easily reconciled to the executive
summary, that gives you the who/what/where/when/why of it all.

Thanks John! That's the mush-merge gem of the day for me. I hadn't heard
that one before.
