Bruce,
They must all be knock-offs from the title of a great 1940's novel in the
Children's Room of the original Ithaca Public Library, upstairs across from
the old city hall, beside Demotte's Bookstore and the notorious pool hall.
"Sky Pilot" features a test pilot who worked for Boeing in Seattle doing
daring things like taking the first DC-3 type of plane for its maiden test
flight. So good, I kept it past the due date just so when waking I could
gaze from my bed at the blue cover with gold letters and a nifty airplane
graphic. Read it twice and a half that year in Grade Five. Great stuff!
Must be some basic inspiration in the title for so many to use it.

The video dates from the 20s and 30s and is called "Lumberjack Sky Pilot"
(the title intrigued me--apparently the "sky pilot" refers to the narrator
being a preacher--I was watching it with the sound turned down so Christmas
Carols could play for the benefit of those baking Christmas cookies while I
lit the tree).

P.S. It occurs to me that Eric Burden and the Animals had a song called
"Sky Pilot" about the chaplain on an aircraft carrier. Is it common to call
a man of the cloth a sky pilot? http://www.rjsmith.com/skypilot.html
