How about Cuba? Closer than Taiwan and has wonderful deteriorating
buildings. They might welcome a "trade" (and craft) delegation. This sounds
like a great idea, folks. 'Course David wouldn't be able to put his Chinese
to use... how about Spanish, David?

PS I recently saw the documentary "Buena Vista Social Club" -- pre-Castro
jazz musicians and a snapshot of Havana in 1998. Incredible buildings (and
fabulous music). I recommend it. What a time capsule. And no dryvit that I
could see. I wonder if the lack of funds for construction (and just about
everything else) has lead to a decline in traditional building skills?
