Sauce?  Was it red sauce, or Eastern NC vinegar-base clear sauce?

BBQ was an education upon my arrival in the South.  Growing up in Ohio, barbeque was a verb, as in "go out back and barbeque some chicken over some charcoal briquettes."  In these parts, it's a noun.  If you want to start a long argument around abouts, just make a claim that red sauce is better than eastern NC sauce.  Then of course, Texas thinks their red sauce is best, and so does Memphis, Kansas City, and bless Royko's dear departed soul, Chicago.

Pig-nic? As in a pig roast in Central Park. Last enjoyed really good
barbeque in the Mountains just west of Asheville -- Great Smokies, no?
Wonder whether the smoke from so many bbq pits were the inspiration for the
name? Perhaps Mr. Becker could stop for a few tips (and a pig) on his way to
NYC?
