Cuyler,

I leave it to you to think up such a dynamic exhibit. ;-)

Finally after something like 3 years of lurking I sent an e-mail to the
hurdy gurdy list, as Gabriel Orgrease. I expressed that though I am a
complete musical idiot I have very much enjoyed the discussions like the
one that is still going on about the use of tampon stuffing yada yada.
That I was rebuilding my music collection with their recommendations.
That I am enjoying all the YouTube videos of hurdy gurdies... and
bagpipes too! I told them that I was preparing myself to build the $20
hurdy gurdy that is available on the internet but wondered if there was
some way for me to come across an hurdy gurdy for less than a grand...
the real ones go from $1500 and up. So the next morning back channel I
was sent an e-mail with a very nice set of plans and a plea to not build
that $20 piece of junk.Oh, I also told them that I wanted to build the
piece of junk hurdy gurdy so that I could go around and bother my histo
presto friends. I got another back channel from a woman whose
significant other is a wood turner in DE and was offering services.
Makes me wonder how many bracket spindles Brad Pitt is going to need in
NoLA.
