the reason I am reading the Wendy Burden book, where the particular club 
was mentioned, is that after HS a friend of mine who went into 
advertising, while I went into building fireplaces, dated a descendant 
of C Vanderbilt and though I never met her, and he has long since gone 
off to wherever via Berlin, she sounds a lot like the person my friend 
described
