Far be it for me to disagree with Mr. Becker on styles, but methinks a
"pent" does not an airplane bungalow make.  I've always been told the key
characteristics of the type are incredibly low pitched roof lines (3/12 or
so) with exaggerated eave overhangs of three feet or greater.  Roof edge
detail (i.e. cornice, flashing etc) is kept to an absolute minimum so to
allow the roof edge to simply float above the walls visually.  Done right,
an airplane bungalow looks like a big "wing" with walls beneath it.
(although Dan's right, that many do in fact have a pent....)
