It's from Indiana. They dug a new quarry for the Empire SB adjacent to the
original quarry which had filled with water. I don't know any more now but
could get it if necessary.

There is a quarry outside of Russleville Ala..who claims the limestone for
the Empire State building came from there ....it is called Alabama shadow
stone ; I don't like it because after a year it looks like dark cement ; Its
been awhile and I even did an evaluation on the Empire state building  in
84-85 ;but if memory serves me it was a dark limestone nes pas?Py
