I will concede that putting these markers up 10' above grade, even in Noo Yawk, would limit the amount they got peed on by homeless ladies and dogs, and the amount of bubble gum that gets ground into them by pedestrians.

However, who's gonna tell the building owner he's giving up facade space and can't put up his tenant's signs, and that he and his heirs and assigns have to reinstall these plaques forever.  And are we qoing to put them on landmarked buildings, too, or just nondescript crappy buildings?

And yes, I've been to Paris.  Didn't like it.  Too many Frogs.

And as for who is and isn't a "hayseed," I'm not the one from Kansas City. I'm from Smogsville.
