This is the reason I find the science of dendrochronological-dating of
buildings to be so fascinating.  To be able to match up the growth rings
like a spectrographic chemical pattern to a known database of growth
patterns based upon the climatic conditions, and know when the tree was cut
to create the timber (did I get that terminology right?), is very cool.  You
can almost imagine the weather in 1690... "dry year"  ...  1702  "wet year."

Time travel does exist.
