On the subject of the German trade apprenticeships:

Has anyone had an immediate contact with any of the German trade
apprenticeship institutions? If so, how would one go about getting in
touch with the carpentry or joiner guild for ideas? From afar, it seems to
me that the Germans have a vital national training program for the trades
that could be duplicated and introduced to North America. If this is a
redundent cry of discovery, forgive me --I am new here.
