We pass by Wapakoneta whenever we go down to visit Janice's relatives in
Kentucky; never thought much of it. The museum, which has a concrete
dome, is right next to I-75, though I've never been inside. Rural western
Ohio hates to preserve anything, so probably there's no historic town
left, just fast food joints and gas stations.
In Kalamazoo, Michigan, a town whose name was beloved by old-time song
writers, the train station has a sign that says: "YES, THERE REALLY IS A
KALAMAZOO."
