NATIONAL EXPERTS SOUGHT FOR NEW ORLEANS HISTORIC ROOFING ISSUES CONFERENCE
CALL

In anticipation of numerous applications for new roofs after Katrina, the
Vieux Carre (French Quarter) Commission will hold a special ad hoc meeting
on Friday, January 6th, tentatively around noontime primarily to gather
advice on the use of synthetic slate as a substitute roofing material for
natural slate. Of larger interest to the committee is the development of
standards/guidelines for determining the appropriateness and durability of
new synthetic roofing materials as they appear on the market or are
introduced to new markets.

The VCC greatly desires the participation of the following experts would
join via conference call:
-Materials science, to give guidance on the sales claims vs. real science
issue.
-Skilled preservation tradespeople.
-Other related preservation professionals.

Persons interested in joining, please email: [log in to unmask]

We look forward to your participation.

Sincerely,
A.A. Krishnan
Project Roof Aid
On behalf of the Vieux Carre Commission
