From Dan:

<As I always say to my conservation friends: "Save a building, save a tree"
...which won't be needed to frame/trim a replacement building.>

Actually buildings are where most of our virgin forest is located. When
asked if we can replace a timber in a 150 year old frame I often respond "I
could if I could fit it in my time machine."

Few people realize that walking into a 150 or more year old barn West of New
England is actually walking into a virgin woodlot. No wonder it makes you
want to take your hat off!
