In the general population of people in the USA, they are willing to spend large
sums of money on an item at a store for a fashionable name or a name that
represents the perception of quality, however, these same people would try to get
an individual to reduce their price if making the same item. This society honors
the results of labor, at the same time seeing the act of labor as demeaning.

Modern is not the issue, for each person has, even  in the past, brought their
own understanding and talents to a project. .... So is it the exact duplication
of an action that is honorable or is it that being honorable in the action that
is taken, that is the main ingredient of authenticity.
