Ken --

Go to bed!!! It's 10:00. I'm still in the office and my email keeps burping
up new bits of Follett.

Derek.

A strategy for PTN is to build up the community of the hands-on and then to
morph with the heads-on. Combination of knowledge of process with knowledge
of technology. Current timeline points at APT 2000 in Philadelphia with IPTW
2000 in Harrisburg, PA. -- closer but no cigar. Dreams of an APT/IPTW in
NYC
2001... but there really is a need for solid volunteer effort to see it
through. We do have a checking account here. Possible locations suitable to
IPTW in NY include LI, Staten Island or West Point. There needs to be a
grass
roots consensus on a local basis for any of this to occur. As I will no
longer be on the APT board as of the end of this month, but will remain
associated by a thin thread with the Publications Committee, I intend to be
less involved in local organizing. To be honest, the long hours of commuting
during the week make an evening or a Saturday in NYC something of a hellish
pain. My interest remains with encouragement of the preservation trades and
I
will continue support of the Preservation Trades Network and IPTW
initiative.

Possibly David West would consider attending IPTW 2000 as a demonstrator?
