Your Humor Czar has discussed the Lucerne Cornice and related matters with a
representative of the Contractor, who shall remain anonymous. Said
individual confirms that new cornice is indeed fiberglass, not GFRC, which
would weigh a ton. They had to reframe the Amsterdam Ave parapet with new
steel to carry the fiberglass as it was. The remaining galvanized (on 79th
Street elevation) cornicework is apparently in pretty good shape, and may or
may not be painted in the spring.

The Contr also repainted the interior courtyard, using paint provided by the
Owner. First they applied the first shipment of paint; they ran out, the
Owner got more, and applied the second shipment. Guess what? Colors not the
same. So the Owner ordered a new shipment of paint (presumably all the same
color, this time), and they painted the entire courtyard again. Then
Landmarks came in and told them they couldn't paint the courtyard that color,
and it was all repainted again.

Keim was reported to have been used on Christopher's lovely "plum" brick on
the street facades.
