I honestly don't remember, I didn't have to configure anything from the
start, I just added the computers and they worked,  when I updated the
firmware, since I used mainly defaults,  I didn't have to change a thing. I
can say though, that what you're saying happens, is what was happening to me
before the update,  you can call linksys if you'd like and talk to them, but
be careful,  some techs over there don't have any clue where as others
aren't too bad.
