I think I renewed my license that way back around 2005 but I don't remember 
how easy or hard it was back then. I do know recently when I moved, it was 
no big deal and when I had my GMRS license back in 2006 or so it was 
manageable. I never renewed that one though, I couldn't afford it but I did 
get it from scratch online.
