Walt,

You say you'd stay away from the Sangean  while at the same time you do
recommend the radio shack dx398 and others.

Aren't these really the same as the Sangean radios?  Are you
recommending the radio shack units over the Sangean due to the price?

This is a very interesting discussion.    I have the sony 2010 and love
the  thing.  I've thought about possibly going for some of the mods
that were mentioned here a while back, but haven't done so.  Has anyone
had any experience with these, I believe they consisted mainly of
replacing some of the filters.
