ok, I've read about enough of this.
I'm only going to make one comment on this then going back to work.

I went through college during the 1980s, toating a cassett recorder, and a
portable typewriter much of the time. During my college carreer I nearly
wrecked my GPA fighting to get our first accessible computer lab created.
Between some government grant money, SSI, and a whole lot of hard work, I
got through, and obtained employment at the university from which I
graduated. I've been there now as a programmer, helpdesk rat, and whatever
else they have needed for 20 years.

During this time I have also known a number of "handicapped" individuals,
both visually and physically, who sit around, complain, and collect their
government checks. Frankly, I have come to the conclusion that if the
majority of the unemployed blind would work as hard as they complain, many
of them could be productively employed.

I understand that there are special circumstances for some, but this 70%
blind unemployment figure touted by the NFB is uncalled for.

Sorry, just had to vent a little. I just got asked if I knew anyone who
would give away an ht for a blind ham who I know doesn't work, and hasn't
worked because he was too lazy to finish high school. It just iritated me.
