Not only that, but the verticals aren't optimized by being by the sea.

Why did they take Ir's when they could have reduced their weight allocations
y using fiber poles and wire?

K5P is a special callsign for Palmyra. Its normal call should be KH5, but
for some reason, the powers that be decided to issue the call K5P for the
DX-pedition. Makes it sound like it is in Dallas or somewhere in 5 land. I
have K5P on 5 slots, but I didn't need them since I had worked them many
years ago. Lots of folks are complaining about their weak signal. Here in
Phoenix they have been plenty loud, but they are only using verticals for
antennas, and in many locations they aren't making it very well.

Subject: Special K5 DXpedition

Hi all:

What's this special K5 DXpedition I'm hearing about? I think he's some where
in the
Galapagos Islands but not sure.
So if someone here's him active today or this evening can you post the freq
to the list? A station working DX on 40M last night moved to 20M to work him
about 8:30 my time 00:00Z but when I followed him to this frequency, 20M was
completely dead for me.
Maybe I'll get him on 40 this evening.
