Guys and girls, how much is the MFJ-998? I've have heard it's
around $560. Is this about what to expect to pay for this tuner?
Thanks, Merry Christmas to all, and 73, Jim WA6EKS

Power?

Richard:

In addition to the Kenwood interface cable, there is a separate
DC power
cord for the MFJ 998. That additional power cord should come
with your
unit. And, you will need a DC power source to power the tuner.

With everything connected properly, the MFJ 998 will not operate
unless your
rig is turned on.

I hope this is stated clearly. If not, please ask, and I'll try
again.

Subject: Is the Interface Cable for the MFJ-998 Enough for Power?

Hi!

I have purchased an MFJ-998 auto tuner. It does not come with
the separate
power supply for it, the MFJ-1316. However, I plan to use the
rig interface
cable for it, the MFJ-5114K for my Kenwood TS-2000. So, 1) does
the
interface cable provide enough power to the MFJ-998 while the
TS-2000 is
powered on, and also 2) if the TS-2000 is not powered on can I
still turn on
the MFJ-998 and adequately operate it (e.g., manipulate its
menus)?
