Tom:

I have a cell phone with speech software on it - talx.
It only runs on some Nokia phones.
You can link a G P S receiver to it with blue tooth.
The one I use is the Holux GR-236.
A newer version is available but I haven't tried it.

Subject: blind-friendly GPS units

Hi, all.

I think this question has come up on this list occasionally, but I wasn't in

a position to do anything when it did.

Things have now changed, and I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a
blind-friendly GPS unit.

I suspect that the unit will not be totally blind friendly in all of its
functions, but I'd like a unit that is as accessible as possible, with
talking features, etc..

GPS units are new to me, so I'm starting at the real beginner level here.

If you could provide information as to model, approximate price, and
availability, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.
