Allan, that issue with AC Log totally confused me too. What really puzzles
me is that sometimes I can arrow through the choices and sometimes I can't;
most of the time I can't. I do not have my AC Log program interactive with
my rig; so, that cannot be the answer. Mysteriously, when SSB is in the mode
area as the default, I can usually arrow up to the CW selection, but if CW
is the default, I cannot arrow down to SSB. Sometimes I can arrow to the
state, but most of the time I cannot, and I cannot figure out why it works
sometimes but not others. Again, I do not have it connected up to my rig so
it can never be getting info from the rig! So, I just type in the mode and
state if it needs to be changed and be done with it!

as I recall, the entry you type in stays till you replace it. If you're not
doing a lot of band-hopping, it isn't a problem.
