Having had a 706mkii/not G, and an original, as well as the 703+, I'd say 
the receiver in the + at least the one I had, is a good deal better than the 
706mkii, and much better than the one in the original 706.
 anyway.  I've never experienced any of the Elecraft rigs, but from all I 
hear, they're dynamite units.
