Hi Bob;
I have been using a braille plus with reasonable success. It was primarily a notetaker/bookreader but you can also look at the internet and check your email. There are some email issues but I believe it is significantly less costly than the packmate or braille note. On the other hand, I have seen a number of used braille notes and packmates looking for new owners.
Best of luck.

My 25 year old B'ns completely died. I bought a rebuilt that lasted one
month longer than the warranty. I got to have something more than my my
Purkens. What do you recommend? Do I bite the bullet and go back to Fredom
scientific or is there a better option out there? Help!! it will be
appreciated.
