Steve, thank you very much for your help. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a menu chart in accessible format. Specifically, I cannot figure out which menu choice turns on the feature that automatically sets the uSB/LSB when you tune a frequency.
Thanks again for all the help.
Frank

Frank,

Glad it worked. One thing I forgot to mention: If you start the reset
process and hear the voice asking if you want to reset, but you get cold feet, you can abort the process by hitting any key other than the a/b key. Or if you don't hit the a/b key to finish the reset within a few seconds, it will also abort.

Off the top of my head, the front panels are pretty much the same.
However on the SG, the 3 buttons in the upper right hand corner of the radio (RIT, XIT, and Clear) can be reset as pf keys in menus. Also the multi knob can be pushed in and is set up as a pf key. Default is power level. Push in the button, the voice will say "TX power" and you can turn the knob to set power then push in button again to get out of power setup.

The menus are totally different for the S and SG versions. Also the
control software for the 2 radios from the Kenwood site is different for the 2 radios.
73 hope you enjoy the radio, Steve KW3A
