Hi Harvey,
I understand why you would be concerned but you never know you micht be surprised about how things will work.
I understand about the Math but it might come back to you.
I guess if I were going for the Extra Class License I would want to think about why I wanted to upgrade.
I'm not saying you shouldn't upgrade but you have to decide how much you want to put into this.
I really struggled to learn everything for my General Class License.
The Rules for Operating were not a problem.
It's was the Technical Info which I had to work at to pass my exam.
Since I really wanted to be a part of the Ohio Single Sideband Net it was worth the effort.
I studied for about four months before I took my Test.
I actually had wanted to handle traffic since I was 12 years old but I just couldn't handle hearing the Code.
My favorite part of Amateur Radio is Traffic Handling.
Someone asked me if I was going to upgrade after getting my General Class License but I said no because I honestly do not see any need for an Extra Class License for Traffic Handling.
I do not have any interest in DX or Contesting of any kind.
It's good to upgrade if you want to do that and I hope you will be able to do so.
