I have had mine on a bench with all kinds of stuff connected.  The icom 
706mkIIg can actually be setup to put out about 150 watts.  The reason that 
they can be dirty is because of how the alc is set according to the guy that 
went through mine.  I haven't had the 7000 on any test equipment yet.
