I got one of thise a couple years ago from Blind Micemart. It never did work
very well and after a month or so the clock even stopped setting to WWV.
Another problem I had is that the batteries in the probe only lasted a couple
days. Even if I used those expensive long life batteries I never got more than
a month out of them.

I found the max range on the probe to be about 50ft and that was on a good day.
