I'll echo what Steve says about the Heil Gold Line mic.  Although I never
owned a TS2000, I used the mic on my 480 and now on my 590, and get good
audio reports.  And, like Steve, I use the wide element.

On my 590, I set my TX equalizer to the HB1 setting.  Not sure if there is a
similar setting on the 2000, but that might be worth looking into.

Junior,

I've been using a GL mic since 2001.  First on  a 2000, then a 480, and 
now on the 590.     Has always worked well for me on all radios, and 
I've always gotten good audio reports.

I've never cared for, and never use the "narrow" element.    The "wide" 
element works best for me.
