For some emergency response exercises we did for my Sociology Of Disasters
class a few years ago, I actually cross-banded to a Kenwood TMD700 in the
University's EOC from my office, and it worked fine.

The only issue was that someone had to turn on the rig at the EOC, and
remember to turn it off when we were done.

One thing I did think of, though, was whether I could somehow do remote
access from my office to the EOC, and then do cross-banding from there, so
that is rattling around in my mind as well.
