Hi Kevin,

The Kenwood ts50 and the Yaesu 100 do not have voice synthesizers available
and they do not have direct frequency input. The Icom ic706 2G does have
both available as options.

Subject: Rig Accessibility Question

Hi all,

I am now thinking of purchasing a used small rig for our boat and for
traveling. I am particularly interested in the Kenwood TS-50 and the Alinco
DX-70TH. For those who may not know I am totally blind.

Now, for the question. Can anyone on the list speak to the accessibility of
either of these for a totally blind person? From what I have heard the
TS-50 can be programmed by entering the frequency from the microphone and
the DX-70 supposedly does not use menus for anything but the set up
functions but I don't know this first hand. I also don't know if the DX-70
can use direct frequency entry. Can anyone speak to either of these
questions? I really don't want to look at anything else because of cost and
size so would really appreciate help on these two.

Thanks much and I look forward to all of your good information.

Kevin, K7RX :)
