Scott,
The KX3 comes with a cable to connect it to a computer. The default cable is
USB on the computer side with a 2 mm stereo phone plug on the KX3 side.
Elecraft also has a substitute cable with a DB25 on the computer side.
Regardless of USB or DB25, it's the same cable used to download new firmware
to the KX3. If you are running the KXPA100 amp, this cable plugs into the
amp rather than the radio then three's another control cable between amp and
radio that carries the rig control / logging data across.
