I know the article you're talking about. Yes, it was an MFJ-209 (which is sort of the analog version of the 259 without the built-in freq counter, which we can't use). It involved a circuit that made an audio tone, and you adjusted for a null, then read the frequency with the freq mite or Jackson Harbot kit or what have you. If you know of anyone who would mod these for us, do let the rest of us know.
