As I stated before, I am confused about the MFJ 297 microphone. Below is my
exchange with MFJ's help desk. As you can read, MFJ is telling me that their
297 does not have any programmable buttons. Yet, the manual leads me to
believe it does. So, here is my question to those of you who actually have
the MFJ 297 mic: Do you also have the TS-590 transceiver, and have you
actually programmed the buttons on the MFJ 297 mic using the menu settings
on your TS-590? I apologize for making this such a big deal, but I am trying
to get to the bottom of why MFJ would tell me that their 297 does not have
programmable buttons, and yet I am getting feedback from you and from their
manual that it does. Remember I am a marketing person, and this confusion
delineates a significant issue with MFJ's marketing and customer
communications about which Martin Jew should be aware. Now, below is my
exchange with Stan from MFJ's help desk...

I am interested in your model 297 mic. However, when I read its description,
I cannot determine if it has programmable buttons or not. I am looking for a
mic to replace my Kenwood TS-590's hand mic, but I want at least two,
preferably more, programmable buttons on it. Also, I need the matching cable
for my TS-590S. If your 297 has at least two programmable buttons, I will
order it. Please let me know: 1. if it meets my requirements, and 2. what
matching cable do I need to order, and 3. what is the total price? I live in
Eddyville Kentucky (42038). TNX, 73, Ron, K8HSY
