Hi;
I think the real question here is do you want hf uhf and vhf all in one box
or do you have something for uhf and vhf and want an hf only radio? The
ts2000 doesn't give you quite as much verbal info concerning the power and
audio settings but both are 100% usable.

Subject: TS480 Vs. TS2000

Hello listers,
I' considering purchasing an accessible radio before Christmas for =
operation out of an apartment setting running mostly low power.

Are there any major differences accessibility wise between the Kenwood =
TS480 and the TS2000?

For my needs I suspect the TS480 will do the trick.

Is one rig more accessible than the other using the built in synthesizer =
in respect to how much the menus talk etc?

Also I notice there are two programs for controling the rigs that can be =
downloaded from the Kenwood site.

What is the difference and how well do either of these work with Jaws or =
Window-Eyes.

I had a Kenwood TS570 at one time that was quite accessible.

I've given up on Yaesu rigs accessibility wise. I figure too much =
sighted help will be needed.

I also have an Icom R75 receiver with the built in speech and all the =
filters. Still had to get a sighted ham friend come over and set up the =
filters off the menus for me.

This is one reason I'd probably not purchase the Icom 718.

Any comments would be grately appreciated.

I really enjoy being on this list. This one and the Optacon list are the =
only lists I subscribe too.

Thanks once again,

73,

Eric
